The Hipp's Academy Awards

Complete with a red carpet, fancy dresses, tuxes, gift bags and paparazzi, local couples and sponsors of the event were treated like Hollywood's best at the first ever Academy Awards Gala at the Hippodrome Theatre.

Floral Expressions Florist and Custom Home Entertainment were among those that sponsored the event.  Dragonfly Sushi and Maude's Classic Cafe provided the food and desserts, and Dom's Liquor and Wine Warehouse provided champagne for the guests.  Many other local businesses donated materials for the swag and raffles.  Guests got to watch the live and HD awards show on several television screens in the VIP Lounge and entered for their chance to win various prizes.  Kara Winslow, Director of Development & Subscriptions at the Hippodrome, said the hope is that this will become an annual event.
