Meet Gainesville's Cutest Couple

Gainesville EventsJust one glance at Chrissy and Brandon Sedgley (who have been married four months), gives away the couple’s undeniable connection—just see our cover for proof. From the pair’s first date over ice cream three years ago (which Chrissy says “he paid for in pennies”) to their wedding day in St. Augustine March 7, Chrissy and Brandon developed a strong bond built on good communication and fun.

“We love to go out together, and we love all the parks and nature in Gainesville,” Chrissy says. “And Chrissy loves to karaoke,” says Brandon, an ex-Seminole fan who moved to Gainesville in 2008 after Chrissy moved here for school. “He used to say Gainesville did not even exist on a map,” says Chrissy, a University of Florida advertising grad, now getting her graphic design degree at Santa Fe College while also working at Neutral 7 Design Group.

Brandon, a history student at UF and a lifeguard at the 300 Club Pool, says he now loves Gainesville and can see himself living here permanently. These days, the couple—who are both 22—can be found dancing the night away at Motown Wednesdays at The Atlantic, dining at The Top or karaoking at Common Grounds and Lillian’s Music Store. “We are always going to remember our first year of marriage as being the most fun part of our lives,” Chrissy says.

As "Gainesville's Cutest Couple," Chrissy and Brandon won a perfect downtown date: dinner at Liquid Ginger followed by tickets to Shear Madness at the Hippodrome, in addition to their cover photoshoot. Want to find out about contests like these? Follow us on Twitter!
