Gator Volleyball Sweeps a Two Tourney

The No. 6 Gator Volleyball team hosted the Campus USA Credit Union Invitational this weekend at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center. It was a two-day event, and the Gators took the tournament.

Early on Friday, the Gators faced Albany, sweeping them (25-8, 25-21, & 25-12). That afternoon, the Gators took on Bowling Green with a 3-0 match (25-12, 25-11, & 25-16). On Saturday, the Gators faced Colorado State, who were undefeated in their Friday matches. With hard-hitting and aggressive serving, the Gators won 4-1 over Colorado State (25-22, 25-19, 25-27, & 25-21), giving the Gators the tourney! At the end, Alberta got her groove on and danced a jig on the way to the locker room.

The Gators will return to the Stephen C. O’Connell Center Sept. 10th & 11th for the Nike Volleyball Big Four Classic.
