Of the hundreds who auditioned, two University of Florida students were chosen for Playboy magazine’s annual “Girls of the SEC” pictorial, on stands now.
Last May, we spoke to model Gabrielle Rushing during her top-secret photoshoot for the iconic men’s magazine. Just before the issue hit stands, we played email-tag with 21-year-old advertising major Jessica Bentley, the other woman who made its pages. Here is what she could share about posing for Playboy, her budding business and—got your pen?—the one thing she is still waiting for a guy to do.

How did you get involved with Playboy? Last spring, I attended the Girls of the SEC casting call and was chosen to represent the University of Florida in the pictorial. Only two days later, I was on my way down to Miami to pose for Playboy Special Editions. Since then, I have been named the Coed of the Week; I was published in the October/November 2011 issue of Playboy's lingerie special edition, was lucky enough to be featured in the preview column in Playboy’s October issue, and I am patiently awaiting the release of Playboy’s November issue featuring the Girls of the SEC. It has been rewarding and exciting, and hopefully there will be more to come!
What did your parents think about you modeling? My mother is extremely supportive of my decisions and always has been. Without her encouragement I wouldn't be where I am today. Knowing that I make my mom proud is a constant reminder to continue to work as hard as I have throughout my life.
Were you uncomfortable at first? The photoshoot was extremely professional and the Playboy production team made me feel like a supermodel. I guess it was kind of like going skinny-dipping for the first time. You hesitate a little while waiting for the moment, let go of self-doubt and go for it. After you jump in the first time, it totally changes your perception.
How do you prepare for a shoot? The best way to prepare for a shoot is to be sure you look and feel your best. It's all about confidence, because it really shows on the camera! I like to workout, eat healthily and get my rest. When it comes to the day of the shoot, I like to be sure I have an awesome tan too!
On the SEC shoot, were you with women from other colleges or just UF? There will be girls from the other SEC schools [in the pictorial], but Gabrielle was at the shoot with me.
What is it like being a UF student, Playboy model and entrepreneur? Busy, busy! At the end of the day, it is extremely fulfilling to know that I have the opportunity to not only be approaching graduation in May, but also have successfully established a business and posed for one of the most distinguished brands in the world. I do my best to balance my schedule and make time to have a social life.
Tell us about your business. In June, I launched a mobile tanning business called Glow Gators here in Gainesville. Glow Gators, “the Sunless tan that travels to you,” allows the client to receive a quality sunless tan in the comfort of their own home. I am also a spokesperson for Gamedayr.com, bringing attention to the fans who celebrate game days through on-camera interviews. Not only has it been a great educational experience, but also a lot of fun!
OK, so on to your personal life. Do you have a boyfriend? I just might have my eyes on a special someone!
What should a guy do to steal your heart? The total package treats me with respect, doubles as my best friend and doesn't hold back.
What is the most annoying thing a guy has done? Jealousy. It is never fun to be with a guy who is constantly accusing you of things you don't do and can't appreciate your independence.
What is the best date you’ve been on? My ideal date would be dinner and a sunset cruise. I love to travel too, so if my guy can come with me then it's even better!
What is the cutest thing a guy has done for you? I am still waiting for someone to send me flowers “just because.”
What do you look for in a guy? I tend to go for the tall and handsome type, but I love a guy with some ambition. Personality is huge for me, and I am really attracted to someone who has humor and intelligence.

Catching up with Gabrielle
We gave Gabrielle Rushing a call to see what she’s been up to since we talked during her shoot. Gabrielle says she loved the shoot, and it was both professional and fun. “It went really well. We had a lot of fun,” she told us. “And I’m excited for people to go out and buy the new issue!”
Since then, Gabrielle has been busy with school and a dance team she is on, called Sabor Latino. The junior biology major hopes to someday enter the medical field or become a pharmacist, but she welcomes the possibility of modeling in the future. “I would love to get involved in more modeling if I have the opportunity, because I had a lot of fun,” she says.
