    Emiliano’s Café Restaurant

Emiliano’s Café, recognizable for its blue-and-white-striped awning, recently launched an innovative lunch solution called Crazy Eights: “eight choices, eight minutes, eight dollars.”
The process is simple, but the results are exciting.

This town is known for great food and even better value. Here, we help you get the most burg for your buck, from the taps and wings to the cookies 'n' cream–and everything in between. Got $25 and a friend (or two)? Then get ready to paint the town. You're about to eat, big-time...again!

$8.50 Cheeseburger @ Loosey's

A half-pound of Harris Ranch Certified Angus Beef cooked to your liking, the Loosey’s Cheeseburger is topped with your choice of cheddar or havarti cheese and served with a side of hand-cut French fries in their old-world English pub atmosphere. To make this meal even better, Loosey’s offers the dish for $7.50 on Wednesdays and even throws in a pint of draft beer.

$7 Meatball Parmigiana @ Mamma Mia Pizza

Nothing’s better than Italian food coming from Mama’s kitchen. But since your Mama doesn’t live here—and chances are she’s not Italian—you won’t be making a wrong choice with delicious meatballs and mozzarella on a freshly baked 12-inch Italian sub from Mamma Mia Pizza for just $7.

490 NE 23rd St.

$4 Maui Angus Burger @ Maui Teriyaki

Maui Teriyaki might be “home of the famous Chicken Bowl,” but it offers a surprisingly good burger—of course with a Maui twist. Maui tops their Angus Burger with a juicy slice of pineapple and drizzles it with its eponymous homemade teriyaki sauce. When we’re feeling like high rollers, we like to through in a drink and fries for $2.

105 SW 34th St.

$1.30 Cookies N' Cream Cookie @ Midnight Cookies

Have the munchies? Heck, looking for something just plain scrumptious? The hidden little place inside California Chicken Grill that is Midnight Cookies is your stop. (OK, technically they deliver, so you don’t even have to do that). The Cookies N’ Cream cookie, like all their cookies, is baked as you order, melts in your mouth and is lightly crisp around the outside and gooey in the center. It’s worth staying up for!

$6.50 Grilled Pimento Cheese Sandwich and $9 Burger @ Mildred's Big City Food & New Deal Cafe

Stop by Mildred’s for lunch for its house-made Grilled Pimento Cheese sandwich, filled with sharp cheddar, Monterey jack and pimento cheeses on seeded multigrain bread. If you’re not feeling all the cheesy deliciousness, hop next door to Mildred’s sister restaurant, New Deal Café, for the classic burger for $9. Its 12 ounces of juicy goodness made with University of Florida local beef is worth double what you pay for—and that’s not even getting into the perfect fries. (And if you change your mind about the cheese, this can come with it too.)

3445 W. University Ave.

$5.50 Lola's Grilled Cheese Sandwich @ O!O Garden Grille

Besides great service, a friendly staff and a fun environment, O!O offers great food, starting with their grilled cheese sammy. Melted Swiss, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses cover the sourdough bread, which can be topped with tomato or bacon. If you’re in the mood to dunk the cheesy goodness, then order a cup of tomato bisque or the soup of the day for $1.75.

1643 NW 1st Ave.

$2.50 Beef or Chicken Patty @ Reggae Shack

Reggae Shack is known for bringing the tastes of Jamaica (like goat, curry palm hearts and jerk chicken) to University Avenue, but they don’t let the diner on a dime leave without a taste of big-ticket flavor. Reggae Shack offers two types of succulent, flaky patties, in beef or chicken, and two different spice options, which are the perfect snack to fill up your stomach. Insider’s tip: Reggae Shack offers plenty of vegetarian and vegan options if you’re more “tempeh” than “oxtail.”

619 W. University Ave.

$3 Bratwurst @ Stubbies & Steins

German-brauhaus-meets-Aussie-beer-pub Stubbies & Steins is best known for its staggering beer selection, but we also know them for their delicious German sausage, schnitzel and saurkraut. Stubbies’ bratwurst uses only the finest pork and spices to create a six-ounce link. While the $16 five-option Sausage Fest surrounds a plate of ’kraut, swing by between Thursday and Saturday to get the late-night (after 10pm) deal of $3 sausages and other German-inspired dishes.

9 W University Ave.

$13 Spicy Smoked Salmon Cakes @ The Warehouse Restaurant & Lounge

Despite The Warehouse’s historical building, it is the site of new dishes, all offering innovative combinations with excellent value. One example? The delicate Spicy Salmon Cakes, for $13 and full of flavor and spice. And although the Warehouse menu changes occasionally, be sure to also check out its infamous Grilled Flank Steak & Snow Crab Mac N’ Cheese for a glammed-up version of a homemade standby.
