This town is known for great food and even better value. Here, we help you get the most burg for your buck, from the taps and wings to the cookies 'n' cream–and everything in between. Got $25 and a friend (or two)? Then get ready to paint the town. You're about to eat, big-time...again!
$8 Artisan Pizza @ Domino's Pizza

We know that Domino’s international presence is primarily limited to Canada, but their new Artisan Pizzas promise to inspire a double take. Each of the three new pizzas boasts a hand-stretched, artisan-style crust and combinations of ingredients like Italian sausage, roasted red peppers and feta cheese. Coming on September 24th, this is an $8 trip to Italy we can afford.
Multiple Locations
$4.40 Tempeh Burrito @ El Indio

Every item at both locations for awesomely fast Mexican is a real steal, with generous portions and healthy options all for less than two digits. You'll find nachos, tacos and big breakfast burritos to offset the agony of those early morning classes. But we go for the uniquely Gainesville tempeh burrito for an overall different burrito experience.
407 NW 13th St. or 5011 NW 34th St.
$5-$12 Tapas @ Emiliano's Café

Allow yourself to be whisked away by authentic, savory Latin-fusion flavors as you step inside Emiliano’s Café. We recommend the tapas menu to get variety and spice without being spendy. These 20 different “mini-meals” include ingredients such as mussels, shrimp, steak, vegetables and cheese. Bite into delectable empanadas or indulge in a paellita.
7 SE 1st Ave.
50¢ Wings (Mon, Wed, Thurs) @ Endzone

With its endless displays of Gator photos, memorabilia and TV screens, Endzone is the place to catch a game–and some game-day wings. Endzone's wings are big and juicy and come in a choice of seven sauces; our favorite is the Endzone special sauce. True connoisseurs will take advantage of the $5 Endzone pitchers. Or, step up to the plate on Monday for a pitcher and a pound (of wings) for $10.
1209 W. University Ave.
$10 Jumbo Wings @ Gator City Sports Grill

Gator City is a great place for finger-food. Though some would say that the cheeseburgers are their star item, we like to change it up with the chicken wings, both breaded and naked. Coat these tender bites of chicken with any of the standard sauces—mild, medium, hot and buffalo—or a few unique signatures sauces such as alligator toes (a mix of butter and blackening seasoning), and Papa Patron’s wild wings sauce (a combination of tequila and salt lime juice). Served with a side of fresh carrots, celery and blue cheese or ranch dressing, these 10 wings are a just a dollar each, unless you’re there on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, when they almost give them away for just 50 cents each.
W. University Ave.
$7.25 Baked Chicken and Yellow Rice @ George's at Phil Nicks

Baked to perfection, the Baked Chicken and Yellow Rice dish at George’s at Phil Nicks is a homemade menu favorite—which might explain why it’s been on the menu for decades. The previous owners, who were Cuban and Italian, created the dish and passed it down when the new owners took over the legendary downtown restaurant about eight years ago. The result? A blend of Southern soul food flavors and old-time atmosphere mixed with a flair for the international.
37 N Main St.
FREE (for kids) Silver Five @ IHOP

Feeling 12 years old again? You're in luck. Kids eat for free off the kids' menu everyday from 4-10pm (with the purchase of an adult entrée). The entire Kids Menu entrees are all 600 calories or less. We like the Silver Five's five silver-dollar-sized buttermilk pancakes with a scrambled egg and crispy bacon for keepin' it classic. (*Oh, and classic buttermilk 'cakes for the grown-ups? They're just $6.80.)
3625 SW 13th St.
$7 16" Cheese Pizza @ Lakeside Grill

Looking for a cheap personal handmade pizza? Well, at Lakeside Grill you can get 16 inches all to yourself for just $7. Add your choice of toppings to your New York-style pizza (like pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, olive, pineapple, ham and spinach) for a $1 each. The thin crush is recognizably New York style, with a gooey center and a crispy edge. We have a feeling you just might be inclined to share.
2900 SW 13th St.
$14 Crispy Lime Chicken @ Liquid Ginger

Liquid Ginger’s Asian-fusion creations include a delicious chicken dinner that is out of the ordinary. It’s marinated and breaded with Panko (Japanese bread crumbs), then deep-fried and served with Liquid Ginger’s very own lime sauce, made with fresh-squeezed limejuice. Because Liquid Ginger provides a smorgasbord of side dishes (including dessert!) to go along with your entrée, you are bound to go home stuffed like a king, on the budget of a pauper.
