The Thirsty Gator is located inside Splitz Bowling Alley, but don’t let its lack of curb presence fool you—this restaurant is the real deal! With a full bar and menu stuffed with choices, you will have no problem finding a delicious meal as you watch any one of the eight flat screen TVs or three huge projection screens.
By Tim Carswell Fast Facts Holy Gator Next came the Soft Pretzel Dippers ($4), which are Bavarian-style pretzel rods basted with butter and salt and served with both a side of honey Dijon dressing and cheese sauce. These huge golden-brown sticks were soft and chewy and tasted excellent in either of the sauces. All Fresh, All Natural The signature Splitz Burger ($9) was more than half a pound of 100 percent Angus beef topped with BBQ sauce, melted Monterey Jack Cheese, bacon and fried onions. It was served with a generous portion of onion rings and dipping sauce on the side. If you are looking for a classic, look no further than the Brooklyn Dogger ($6). This all-beef frank is more than a foot long and as thick as a banana. It’s topped with chili, cheese, sauerkraut, diced onions and relish and served with a huge portion of fires. Lunch – N – Bowl It’s All in the Name… Each Night also has special deals, ranging from Monday’s quarter-mania (25-cent hotdogs, French fries, wings, soft drinks and jungle juice) and Tuesday’s trivia night (25-cent wings) to Friday’s karaoke (or live band) and the weekend’s sports.
